Our Divine Calling

Ephesians 4: 1-2 Amp.  I…appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the (divine) calling to which you have been called) with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God’s service. [2] Living as becomes you……

As believers in Christ Jesus, we are called to lead a life worthy of the divine calling to which we have been called.  That divine calling is first to live and conduct ourselves in manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing him, being fruitful in Him, increasing in the knowledge of God and always giving thanks to our Father in all things.  We don’t give thanks for everything, but IN everything and He will show us the way and will meet all of our needs.  Why??? Because He loves us completely, thoroughly and with an everlasting love.  Meditate on these things and not on the things of the world.  Have a beautiful, divinely blessed day in Him

Rise up to His Expectations!

Let us give praise and thanksgiving today. Psalm 8 – How excellent and majestic is Your Name Oh Lord, in all the earth. We declare Your glory and all the awesome works of Your hands.  We recognize that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that You have made us a little lower than God. (Vs. 5 Amp.)  You have given us dominion over the works of our hands and have put all things under our feet.  Your Name is majestic and to be praised in all the earth.  These words are too wonderful to comprehend, but help us Lord to understand and be thankful for the position we have been raised to because of  You, Lord Jesus Christ, and Your sacrifice to redeem us and bring us back to where we belong; to bring us back to the place you created us to fill.  Let us leave the earthly thoughts behind.   Help us Lord to rise up to Your expectations!  Thank you Lord for all you have done for your people.

Renew Your Strength

You need strength from the Lord? “Those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him) shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount  up to the sun);  they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” Is 40:31 Amp.     Seek Him today.  Wait on  Him by praying, reading His Word, meditating, fasting.    Don’t look at the circumstances; look to God your Father, He is a good God, a loving God. Believe Him, not the world.  God loves you and wants to bless you in all areas of your life.

Merry Christmas

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son… and Jesus said, in this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world, and because He did, when you accept Him as Lord and Savior, you have the same power to overcome in Him.   No matter what is going on in your life, because of this message, you can have a wonderful life.   Merry Christmas to all.

“Attend to my words…for they are life to those who find them…” Proverbs 4:20, 22

Take out your pen and paper and make your notes.  This is for your life, your good life; your abundant life! The Word of God is so important.  You must truly KNOW it so that you won’t be deceived or carried away by every wind of doctrine.   Before we can move forward we need to be rooted and grounded in the Word of God and learn to hear from the Holy Spirit of God for our direction and the wisdom we need to live a long life and a life worth living.  1 Timothy 4:1 says “Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy:  having their conscience seared with a hot iron… But refuse profane and old wives’ fables and exercise yourself rather unto godliness.”  In this last verse 7, the Amplified Bible says “But refuse and avoid irreverent legends – profane and impure and godless fictions, mere grandmothers’ tales – and silly myths and express your disapproval of them. “ Train yourself toward godliness (piety) – keeping yourself spiritually fit.”

“Keeping spiritually fit, that’s the key to keeping your faith strong, able to resist all the wiles of the devil, being firmly planted and bringing forth fruit.”

I’m sure many of you have heard these things before, but the Spirit of God would have them brought to your remembrance. The Bible tells us that “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”  The second word “hearing” in that verse has an added meaning in the Greek.  It also means “understanding.”  So let’s read it this way,  “Faith comes by hearing and hearing and understanding the Word of God.”  He who has ears to hear let him hear (hearing and understanding)!  Take the scriptures and meditate on them and let the Spirit of God minister light and life to you through them.  You see, it is not because it’s Gloria, the minister, the Bible school teacher, telling you; it is the Word of God, the Spirit of God telling you to take heed and listen.  It’s the Word of the Living God and He wishes to speak to your heart.  We are living in the last days and we need to take heed, to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  This is part of your armor.

Turn to Colossians 2:6-8, Amplified.   It says this “As you have therefore received Christ,  Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him.  Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).”

Now that in itself is a lot to think about, but let the Holy Spirit lead you.   We are told to be “firmly and deeply planted, fixed and founded in Jesus and be continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught…”  Beware of those things!  Beware of people putting their human ideas and their human traditions ahead of God’s Word.  Don’t let them take you captive.  In Galatians 4:3 & 9, it talks about the rudiments of the world and the elements of the world and that they put you and keep you in bondage when you put them ahead of Christ Jesus.  We must stand fast in our liberty in Christ.  How can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly and worthless elementary things of all religions before Christ came, whose slaves you once more want to become?  “Be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Paul talked about “vain deceits”.  I want you to understand what that means.  Vain means it’s of no real value; it is useless; worthless; futile, idle; empty, hollow and fruitless.  Fruitless….that’s not what I want for my life.  I want to bear fruit…good fruit.  In Psalm 1 it talks about those whose desire is towards the Lord….then he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].  That’s what I want and I believe that’s what you want too.  To be firmly planted in Him…He will cause us to bring forth fruit when it is the right time.  We will not fade or wither but everything we do shall prosper and come to maturity.  I love that!

That reminds me of a place near where I used to live.  The Lord brought this to mind when I was studying about being firmly planted.  It is a street running alongside a body of water.  There are trees standing on the banks of the water.   They never fade or wither, they stand tall and strong.  you know why???  They were planted by the water.  Their roots reached deep into the ground and over to the water and were kept vibrant and bearing fruit…never withering or fading…firmly planted.  And as their branches reached toward the sky, I like to think they were praising God.  The water for us is the water of the Word.  The Word of God and the Holy Spirit will nurture us and cause us to grow and we will bring forth fruit in our season, we will not fade or wither and everything we do will prosper and in so doing our lives will bring praise to Him.

We serve a good God!  He wants us to be blessed and prosper.  He’s not out there beating us up when we make a mistake….we do that to ourselves and we let others do that to us too.  Why not fill ourselves up with the Word of God and let the Holy Spirit give us light; let Him show us our path and our destiny in Him.  He will cause you to prosper in all things, He will cause you to find your place in Him; to fulfill the call He has on your life, no matter what that is.  Don’t let anyone or anything, stop you from attending to His Word and obeying what He says.  His Word is LIFE to you!

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Amen!
